In April Coleraine Borough Council were proposing to ban horse riding on three beaches on the North Coast of Ireland. Local horse riders were outraged because other than the beaches the Council only has one bridle way and the roads are becoming too dangerous to ride on.
BHS Ireland attended a meeting that concluded with a group of nine equestrian representatives (including Heather Hoffman BHS Ireland) being voted onto a working group to participate in the Council’s consultation process. In early July the Council explained to Heather Hoffman that they were currently finalising the consultation procedure. Heather requested that the meeting of the equestrian group take place towards the end of the consultation period to allow the group to respond to any issues that may have arisen during that period, which will take place over the summer.
